What do you love most about Pilates? What frustrates you most?

The best thing about Pilates is how it combines strength, flexibility, and body awareness in a way that really makes you feel connected to your body. Something that is frustrating to me is how misunderstood Pilates can be. Many people think of it as just gentle stretching or something only meant for dancers, which totally misses the strength and challenge it actually involves.

If you were trying to convince someone who has never tried Pilates before to come to your class, what would you say to them?

I’d say, “If you’ve never tried Pilates, you’re in for something transformative. Unlike high-impact workouts, Pilates strengthens you from the inside out, focusing on your core and building a balanced, flexible, and resilient body. It’s challenging yet accessible, and every session leaves you feeling stronger, more energized, and connected to your body. Plus, it’s tailored to meet you where you are, no matter your fitness level or goals. Come try it, and you’ll see just how powerful it can be.”

How did you get into Pilates?  And who are you certified through?  If you had a mentor who was your mentor?

I got into Pilates because so many people told me I would love it, so I signed up for a class—and I’ve been dedicated ever since. I earned my certification through Breathe Education, and since joining Westwood Pilates, Daniela and Francine have been incredible mentors. They’re helping me deepen my knowledge and refine my teaching skills, and I’m excited to keep growing my career with them.

How did Pilates change your life?

Pilates changed my life by deepening my mind-body connection and boosting my confidence in my strength and alignment. It’s given me physical and mental resilience, making me feel empowered both in and out of the studio.

What’s your favorite and least favorite Pilates exercise?

My favorite Pilates exercises are the ab series on the mat and my least favorite is the swan dive.

What’s your favorite inspirational quote?

One of my favorites is, "Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment." It reminds me that steady effort and commitment are the keys to achieving anything meaningful, whether in Pilates or in life.
