Why is Pilates so Expensive?

It came to my attention one of these days that whenever I type the word Pilates on a Google search, one of the most popular questions that comes up is "Why is Pilates so expensive?"
Pilates offers many benefits like improved flexibility, core strength, and overall fitness. Classes are small and use high-quality, effective equipment. However, it's often overlooked that Pilates teachers invest a significant amount of money into developing their skills and knowledge, which they then share with their students.
As a devoted Pilates practitioner and teacher, I've often wondered why we are so passionate about this practice that we spend all our time, energy, and resources perfecting it. Although Pilates is also expensive for us teachers, we still sign up for private sessions, workshops, and seminars, always seeking to learn more. It's not just about the exercises; it's a lifetime journey with ourselves and the Pilates method.
In this community of dedicated and experienced teachers, there is always more to learn. Pilates is hard work that requires constant practice and guidance. Finding the right guidance is crucial in understanding what we're doing and how to teach it.
While we could practice on our own, it would ignore the essence of Pilates. As for me, I've been on this journey for 10 years and have never stopped taking private sessions, attending workshops, and training on weekends. I take a minimum of three private sessions and classes weekly, in addition to my own workouts on other days. Every session and discussion with other teachers teaches me something new about my body, practice, and teaching.
The ultimate satisfaction is not just feeling great in my own body and constant learning; it's also the excitement of transmitting my knowledge to my clients. However, it takes time, dedication, financial commitment, attention, experience, and ultimately joy to bring these skills to our students.
Although it may come with a higher price tag, the benefits make it worth the cost.
